Are you considering hiring a birth doula?

In the first instance I suggest an interview. You may wish to interview more than one doula as we all have slightly different ways of working and additional skills but the most important aspect is that you feel comfortable with your doula. At the interview you can explore exactly what you need and what kind of birth you would like and how I can best support you in this.

If you would like to go ahead with hiring me I will meet with you a further 3 times before the birth and go “on-call” usually from 38 weeks of pregnancy until you give birth. I will visit you at least once postnatally.

I will design a tailor-made antenatal course for you and help you prepare emotionally and practically for the birth including breastfeeding support if needed.

I can provide most things you will need or like to use including birthing balls, birth pool, TENS machine etc.

I can also arrange other services such as placenta encapsulation or help you arrange a “belly blessing” or recommend complimentary therapies such as massage therapy, reflexology etc.

I will also be available via phone or email to answer questions or simply listen to any concerns you may have.

Worried you can't afford a doula?

There may be options available to you to make my services more accessible such as payment plans or skill-swaps or you may qualify for help from Doula UK via the Access Fund
